Gov. Wolf Decrees All Public Restrooms ‘Transgender Friendly’

HARRISBURG, PA – Governor Wolf decreed all public restrooms ‘Transgender Friendly’ today in a small ceremony in the State Capitol.

Following the Obama administration’s issued guidance to schools requiring they allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity, Governor Wolf said this decree “is effective immediately.”

A spokeswoman for the governor explained, “Over the next 30 days all businesses within the state of Pennsylvania that offer public access to restroom facilities must comply. In addition to allowing access to facilities according to the gender customers identify with, business must also label all restrooms ‘transgender friendly’.

The public is encouraged to help with labeling transgender friendly restroom facilities throughout the state by printing and posting the sign below at businesses you frequent.
