HARRISBURG, PA – Governor Wolf passed a state Executive Order banning vaping in public spaces late Friday evening.
“Vaping has been identified as a cause of a number related illness and even recent deaths around the country.” explained Gretchen Pane, spokesperson for the Governor.
The fine for vaping in public will be $250 for the first offense and $500 for subsequent offenses.
Vaping has become popular in recent years as an alternative to cigarettes and even used as an aid in smoking cessation. However, the exchange of habits is proving to be and exchange in health risks.
According to Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace the vaping ban will be vigorously enforced in Lancaster.
“We will vigorously enforce the vaping ban and will be establishing an anti-vaping task force to patrol First Fridays and issue citations to offenders.” said Mayor Sorace.
A recent poll of People of Lancaster readers found that 87.3% of POLsters find vaping to be a douchey activity.
