Governor Wolf Passes Executive Order Requiring Students To Learn Spanish

HARRISBURG, PA – Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf passed state Executive Order 12-18 today requiring all high school students in Pennsylvania to learn Spanish.

“Pennsylvania is the national center of Hispanic growth in the nation and Governor Wolf is setting up the state as the leader in integration. Spanish fluency will be a requirement for graduation after 2022.” explained the Governor’s spokeswoman Juanita Saldana.

In order to support this effort Governor Wolf is raising state taxes 17% to cover the cost of hiring Spanish teachers for each school district.
