Londonderry Township – Today marks the end of an era as Three Mile Island officially begins shutting down today. Employees, locals and environmentalists all are concerned with what will happen with the property, located on a three mile island in the middle of the Susquehanna River. However local entrepreneurs Clyde and Jack Ulate of Mount Joy want to open an ecological adventure park on the island.
“It’s such a beautiful location with tons of parking and surrounded by beautiful water. This is the perfect opportunity to offer jobs to the displaced workers while providing a much needed economic boost to the Middletown area” Jack Ulate tol POL reporters.
The brothers plan to call the attraction “Nuka Island Fun Zone” and the property will include zip-lining, camping, ecological tours, paintball and a trampoline park to start.
Renovations begin in April of 2020 with an expected opening Summer 2021.
