LANCASTER, PA – The Lancaster City Bureau of Police Department’s K-9 Division has a new dog on the force and they have named him after President Obama. The 10 week old German Shepherd has been named Bark Obama.
“We wanted to honor our 44th President and we thought what better way than to name one of our K-9 partners after him.” a spokesman for the Bureau told us.
According to the Bureau website, “The K-9 division of the police force was founded in 1990 and provides a visible support to the officers as they perform their duties. The dogs are an integral component of crime prevention and detection and provide a presence that defuses many potentially dangerous situations.”
Bark Obama joins the force today and will undergo a year of training before he is ready to hit the streets with his partner.
