Penn State Upset: One Step Closer To National Funding Holiday Bowl

An unbelievable upset over Ohio State in Happy Valley has fans and players, alike, feeling more confident about the potential to play in the National Funding Holiday Bowl on December 27th in San Diego, CA.

After coming from 14 points down late in the game, Penn State was able to jump to a 4-2 record and 5th place in the Big Ten Conference. This cushy spot in the standings allows the team to forget about the 12:00pm EST start time of the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl, and set their sights on the more prestigious 7:00pm EST game that same night.

Of course, a hiccup in the future could send PSU back to Zaxby’s; or, even worse, to the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit.

Experts predict the loss will likely mean Ohio State will have to compete against Michigan later this season for a chance to play in either a Bowl Playoff game, or the Rose Bowl; a scenario that went unchanged despite Penn State’s upset victory.
