PHILADELPHIA, PA – Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Alan Gehret ruled today that schools can vaccinate children without parental consent.
Gehret made the ruling today after 13 year old Brian Simpson of Upper Darby sued his parents for the right to be vaccinated.
Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Gehret issued the following ruling statement to the media, “Children must have a choice in their healthcare. A child should not suffer their parent’s ignorance in choosing to endanger their children and the public by not vaccinating. Schools are the logical choice to identify those children who have not been vaccinated and offer them the opportunity to protect themselves.”
Lawyers for Simpson’s parents have said they will challenge the ruling and sought to block their son from receiving vaccinations.
