Senator Casey Wants Gun Ownership Question Added To 2020 Census

WASHINGTON – Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey (D) proposed legislation today that would add a gun ownership question to the 2020 Census.

Casey, who is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, said that it is important that we understand gun ownership in America.

“We need to know who has guns, how many they have, and do they own them legally?” said Casey.

The questioning in the Census would be delivered in three questions:

  1. Do you have guns in your household?
  2. How many guns do you have?
  3. Are your guns legally owned?
